Quinceañara

This custom comes from our Latino culture and celebrates a young girl’s adolescence. This is NOT a sacrament of the Church, but has deep religious roots.

 

Celebration options:

  • Simple Ceremony:
    • Opening Prayers
    • Scripture and Homily
    • Prayer of Thanksgiving and blessings
    • Dismissal
  • Eucharistic Ceremony (only if family has proven mass attendance)
    • As a Sunday Mass, with communion distributed

 

Requirements:

  • Household are registered and active within the parish; Households outside of the parish will be not be accepted
  • The daughter has been baptized, made their first communion, and has been or in preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation
    • Proof needs to be provided before a date is set
  • Daughter and family attends preparation classes
  • Ideally daughter active within youth ministry
  • $500 parish use fee paid; $100 stipend for the priest (paid to the parish)
