CATHOLIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

We offer “CRE” (Catholic Religious Education) for all children who go to public schools. Pope Francis talked and wrote constantly about “Encountering” God, and CRE helps the children learn how to see Him, hear Him, talk to Him, and love Him. It also helps children understand that we encounter Jesus in the sacraments, in prayer, at Mass, in service, and in Scripture, as well as in people, pets, and nature.

Children are just beginning their lives as disciples and we love educating and helping form them in their spirituality!

Classes are offered both Wednesday afternoons, 3:45-4:45pm and Sunday mornings, 8:45-9:45am (many go directly to 10:00 am Mass following Sunday CRE). CRE is offered for children K-7th Grade, including those who have already celebrated their First Communions.  Registration usually takes place in August. Those also preparing for the Sacraments of First Communion would register in CRE.

Requirements:

·        Households are registered and active within the Parish

·        Tuition of $30 per child, up to $90 per family to cover cost of books and supplies

We offer CRE for children with Special Needs. Please contact the DRE to begin this preparation so that we know how to better help the household.

We also offer Vacation Bible School for 5 mornings in June for 3 year-olds (potty-trained) and older. Children older than 5th grade serve as “captains” for the younger ones. Music, crafts, Scripture, and outdoor activities!
