Fr. Mike was born Feb. 17, 1953 in Landstuhl, Germany. He is one of 7 children, having 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Being a military brat, Fr. Mike has lived in various places throughout the United States and in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
In 1973 is when he began to give the Priesthood some serious thought. After much prayer and consultation with a family priest friend, Fr. Mike entered St. Pius X Seminary, Erlanger, Kentucky, and in 1975 graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy. He then entered Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary, Emmitsburg, Maryland. There he completed 4 years of Theology and graduated with a Masters of Theology.
During his last year of Theology, due to asthmatic conditions, it was decided that he should look into a Diocese with a drier climate. The only Diocese he looked into was the Diocese of Reno/Las Vegas, which is what it was called at the time. Very shortly his Bishop in Harrisburg, PA released him and the Bishop of Reno/Las Vegas picked him up. The rest is history.
In the past 29 years Fr. Mike has covered Little Flower Parish, Reno; Christ the King Parish, Las Vegas; St. Paul’s Parish, Winnemucca; St. Joseph’s Parish, Elko; Our Lady of Wisdom Parish, UNR, Reno; Our Lady of Las Vegas Parish, Las Vegas; St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Incline Village; St. Albert the Great Parish, Reno; and now Our Lady of the Snows Parish, Reno.
