Welcome to K4J Circus of Stars
Spotlight on God the Father!
Each day, children at Vacation Bible School will...
Attend the Big Top opening assembly where kids learn the day’s gospel passage, the focus of the day and K4J songs; they watch a skit performance about that day’s saint and join in the “Thank You, Father” missionary project in which each child collects spare change for retired priests and religious who require care within the diocese.
Rotate through five Circus Stations, per age level (pre-K4J or K4J):
1. Act 1: Missionaries In Motion -- where kids learn to put faith into action
2. Act 2: Get Moving -- outdoor “three ring” games & excitement
3. Act 3: Cool Craft – crafts with a purpose
4. Act 4: Circus Snacks -- tasty circus treats
5. Act 5: K4J Grand Finale Prep: Music & Chapel Time – preparation for the
closing day liturgy, show and carnival.
All age-levels receive Send-It-Home packs which teach kids fun ways to practice the virtue of BALANCE at home through the “Balancing Clown Mission.” This mission helps kids WORK, PLAY, REST, and PRAY each day and be ready to do the will of the Father at any moment. We become the Father’s “circus stars” as we work to balance our lives and reflect his glory!
YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO BRING A TOWEL THAT THEY CAN LEAVE AT THE PARISH CENTER FOR THE WEEK.
On Friday, it concludes with a Mass for children and families at 11:00 AM
HELP NEEDED!
- Teenagers [Confirmation students will get service hours credit!]
- Helpers Fifth Grade and Older
- Adults to lead crafts, music, activities, etc.
- If you can’t donate your time that week, we also need people to help us acquire donations of: food; arts & crafts; financial.
We can’t do it without your help!
Everything is pre-planned, we just need volunteers to help us organize and run the various activities.
If you have an interest in Music, Bible, Arts & Crafts, Snacks,
Play Direction and/or Props & Decorations, we need you!
This is also a great opportunity for service hours for those in Confirmation [9th grade and older].
We are fortunate to be joining several other parishes using this same program. We will also be forming teams to create some wonderful props, backgrounds, and decorations, which we will all share.
We also need children, ages fifth grade and older, who are willing to act as leaders and help with the skits, etc.
